YOUTH SEMINAR IN LEIPZIG
Stayed all night in the E-Tap Motel Friday night and it was an adventure. The bed was so hard Gene had to pull down the mattress from the upper bunk so that I could sleep. The shower had no lip to keep the water from going out so it flooded over to the toilet. This must be a common occurence as they provided us with a squeggi (spelling). They were very nice however, and the price was right 31.00 euro. That night we went to eat with Richard Walker our Supervisor. He chose a Chinese, Tai restaurant and it was very good. I ordered some kind of hot soup that I had to pass to Richard as Gene and I do not like hot things (tasting that is). We both had sweet and sour duck which we both loved.
The next morning at 7:00 AM we headed out for the town of Leipzig. The Seminar was held at the Institute building and it is right in the middle of a mall. The building was very old. I also took pics of the ceiling which I felt was a work of art. People really use to liven their houses up by using their talents.
We set up 11 computers and we got them all running, big accomplishment because the wireless is usually on the fritz as they use to say. Today it worked great. We had two groups and we taught them indexing. Afterwards they served us lunch of cold cuts and potato salad. We closed up shop about 2:00 so we were able to see a little bit of Leipzig.
