20 Jul 2011- Girls in Wurzburg, Heidelburg, Dilsburg

Rachel and I stayed home today while she nursed the flu. Kim and Dawn spent the day with Elder Walters in Wurzburg, Heidelburg and Dillsburg. They just couldn't go home without seeing the beautiful Wurzburg Palace and its gardens. The both said they had never seen anything like it before. I knew that would be a highlight of their trip. The fresco's on the ceilings are awesome to see. The problem is, you can not take pictures in there so you'll have to ask them how it was. The second place was Heidelburg. They thought that was really spectacular too. The last place was a favorite town of ours, Dillsburg. The town is so quaint, I can't think of a better word for it. You actually step back in time when you go there. It is an actual working town. People really live there and everyone knows one another. All the shops are touristy and stocked with homemade goods. I knew they would love walking through the streets there.

They knew we were home waiting for them and they were starved so they hurried home. Rachel was feeling better and we were both hungry when they arrived. I had the perfect place in mind to go, The Waldgeist. It is a little ways from our apartment and pretty hard to find. We did not realize how big the proportions were. We should have known when the sizes came in 1/4 gram, 1/2 gram and a one whole gram. We thought we could share one order, wrong. 4 people could share one order. Gene ordered ribs which were delicious. Even the next day. The girls and I had Veal Schnitzel, a really big winner. We had so much food left over. They asked if we wanted dessert? We had to refuse. We saw how big the desserts were. If you go with a big party it would be really fun, otherwise the portions are too big for 2 people, but the food is delich. We had to get back home so those girls could get up super early to catch their plane which came in at 9:30 AM. I hated to see them go, but we loved having them come to visit. What a sad day for us. I wanted them to stay even longer but they had husbands to get home to and Gene and I had work to do that very day. It is hard to leave your family to go on a mission, but it is worth it. We hope everyone is preparing for their missions when the time comes. Blessings come to your family while you are away from them.
