24 Sep 2011 Frankfurt Pine Wood Derby

First of all I need to thank all my friends in Vista who so generously gave of their time to answer my request for help in putting on a Pine Wood Derby Day. Our Stake Primary President Sister Ruth Fahl said she needed some suggestions and help in scoring and putting on a Pine Wood Derby. Instead of it being a Cub Scout Event, like it is in the US, it is for the entire ward. There were two races, one for 15 yrs and below and one for 16 yrs and over. It was a big hit. She, and many others did a great job in decorating and running the races. There were over 200 entries and the rec hall was over flowing. They rented the big platforms so that everyone could see. Brats and drinks were free and plentiful. The kids just loved it. I took lots of pictures so you could see how much work went into it.

While looking around, I swear I saw Ashton Kutcher. I had to do a double take. He was so cute, I took several pictures, see what you think? Sorry girls, he is taken, he is married with kids. Oh, by the way, this was not just for Fathers and their Sons, it was also for the mothers and the daughters. As you will see with all the cars that I took pictures of, there were quite a few girlie cars entered. Even our Sister Missionaries entered a car. What a fun time we all had. Lots of non members there too, so all the missionaries were there just in case.

Next year it should run really smooth, with all the experience they had this year. Thanks again for your information everyone and thanks to you Michelle for getting the word out to everyone there in Vista. You are definitely the info lady.
