5 -7 Juli 2010 Mazz & Jenna arrive

We left early today from work to pick up Mazzy and Jenna, my granddaughter and her friend. They have spent the last three weeks in a town called Aurich, Germany with a host German family. Fenja is a German girl who spent 3 weeks at Mazzy's house learning about the American culture and now it was Mazzy's turn to spend time at her house learning about the German culture. They were able to tour the Cologne (Koln) cathedral and a day in Berlin. The rest of the time was spent going to school and learning more about the German language. It was a great opportunity for her. She is now here spending time with Grandma and Grandpa for two weeks. We heard before they came that they wanted to rest for a few days so that's what they did for 3 days. They came in on the train which took 6 ours and then on to Bad Vilbel for another hour. They were pooped to say the least. The next day after work we did take them for a tour of Bad Vilbel so they could get their barrings. Near our house is a magic ball (that's what I call it) at night it is all lit up. I think they were impressed with the cute town we have here. We walked in the park near by and had a brat (Mazzy loves the curry brats) and an eis ( like an Italian gelatto) I think they slept until noon the days we went to work. Here are a few pictures of their first days here.
