12 Jun 2011 Wurtzburg, Rothenburg & Rottingen

WURTZBURG PALACE & MARIENBERG FORTRESS

This was a holiday in Germany so we got to spend another day with the Anunsons. They put their lives in our hands and we decided to have them experience Wurtzburg. We took them first to see the Marienburg Fortress which has such great views of the city from the top and then on to the Wurtzburg Palace and gardens. I think this is our 4th time coming here because we want everyone to see it. Johnny and Jenny loved it. I took pictures of the Friscos that were done by Teipolo. They are beautiful. You can only take pictures of the outer room but none of the palace rooms. Too bad, because they are awesome. So much richness and no one actually lived in it. Only for show when important people came to see the Bishop. We had lots of fun and this day is not through yet.

ROTHENBURG

Rothenburg was a must for Johnny and Jenny to see because it is our favorite town. We walked all over and had an eis. Jenny says this is her favorite town so far but she hasn't seen Dilsberg yet. We will go there tomorrow. We have been doing a lot of walking and I'm sure there will be more ahead in the next two weeks.

ROTTINGEN

Johnny has a friend in Arizona who has a cousin who lives in Germany and he asked him to stop by at their restaurant and say hi, so this is the last place we went today. Rottingen is a small town near Rothenburg and we found it very charming. I took a picture of the back of the owners t-shirt to show you their advertisement. We all ordered authentic German food. Johnny, Jenny and Elder Walters had brats (what else is there?) and I had fish. Enjoy the pictures of the food, especially you, Richard. After we ate, we had a great talk with the owner who is the cousin of Johnny's friend. We headed for home, exhausted as usual.
