24 Jun 2011- Wechselburg Castle & Nurnberg

Wechselburg Castle is the 4th castle we went to today. It is a large Baroque Castle, first built after the 30 Yr. War (1618-48) The Abbey is dated to 1168. After WWII, it became a place of refuse for many people. It got its name which means "Swap castle" from the exchange that the Family Von Schoenberg did for 3 villages near Dresden. Today it is used as a Hostel run by the Monks for people wanting to withdraw from the world for a few days. Sounds good to me about now. Rest is a word not a reality.

KAISERBRUG CASTLE

Nurnberg was the last place to go on our agenda. It was late in the day but we managed to get Johnny and Jenny into the Well tour. They give you the history of the well that is in the Castle. This is a great castle and the history of it I have given before on one of my blogs. We walked all over and had a great day, enjoy the pictures, this will be the last blog with Johnny and Jenny. They are leaving on Monday. We enjoyed our time with them. In one week our daughters will be here to visit, can't wait.
