May 14, 2010 Running around with Elders

We had lunch with everyone in the office today. Elder's Howell and Kunzli are the ones helping Dad learn his job so they hang around the office until they have a job to do. We left work early to run around with two elders who are helping Gene learn his job. So we went to a want-a-be Home Depot. What a joke. They have much of nothing but I did find two plants for my balcony. It looks more like Germany in our apartment now. Went to take 4 Utah driver's licenses to be translanted in order for them to get their German one. Hope Dad can get his. Germany must not like California drivers cause we don't have reciprocity with Germany. We CAifornians have to pay 3,000 euros and spend 6 mo. in a school. Pres says he's going to get around that so we shall see. Included are some pictures of our excursion for the day, saw some interesting buildings and I included a picture of the bike paths on the sidewalk. Bikes do have the right away. They will run you down if they are in a hurry.

  1. Love the pictures. And I noticed a bottle of Fanta. I know the Germans love their Fanta and they mix everything in with it. Before I joined the church and was growing up in Germany, I would get what's called "Kinder Bier", where they'd mix Fanta with some beer. As the kids get older, less Fanta is mixed in. Also, are you able to translate the sign that is in the kitchen up on the wall behind the sink?
